‘Shab’ is a romantic drama which revolves around some people from different states meeting in Delhi where they all are chasing their dreams. The lead male Ashish Bisht is a model, Arpita Chatterjee is a coffee shop girl falls in love with him. Raveena Tandon is playing the role of Ashish’s mentor. Sanjay Suri plays the role of Raveena Tandon‘s husband while she attracted towards aspiring model Ashish Bisht in the film. ‘Shab’ is directed by National Award Winning director Onir and produced by Sanjay Suri and Onir himself.
The release date of the film has been postponed by two weeks. The film, which was earlier scheduled for release on June 30, will now hit the theaters on July 14. ‘Shab’ will clash at the box office with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif‘s much-awaited film ‘Jagga Jasoos‘.
The film’s director Onir revealed that it was only wise of them to not release the film around Salman’s Tubelight because that in a way will only hamper their box office collections. They have voluntarily backed out from releasing on 30th June.
Onir was quoted as saying, “We decided to postpone the release as we were not getting enough screens. PVR did not get the time to watch the film and plan a release strategy. They were busy with Tubelight.”
The film had its World Premiere at the recently held New York Indian Film Festival. The film’s music is composed by Onir’s favourite Mithoon and lyrics have been penned by the composer along with Amitabh S Verma.
