What Christopher Nolan is going to do in his films next, is always something to look forward to. Known for his mind bending films like ‘Interstellar’ and ‘Inception’, he is going to push the boundaries further with his next film ‘Tenet’.

In an interview, the director revealed that he crashed a real plane for an important sequence in his upcoming film. The decision to crash the plane pandered after deciding all the pros and cons said Christopher Nolan.

Talking about the sequence he said I planned to do it using miniatures and set-piece builds and a combination of visual effects and all the rest…It became apparent that it would actually be more efficient to buy a real plane of the real size, and perform this sequence for real in camera, rather than build miniatures or go the CG route.”

Adding further he said “It’s a strange thing to talk about – a kind of impulse buying, I suppose. But we kind of did, and it worked very well, with Scott Fisher, our special-effects supervisor, and Nathan Crowley, the production designer, figuring out how to pull off this big sequence in camera.”

The decision shocked the cast members too, particularly actor Robert Pattinson. Pattinson further went on to describe it as “bold to the point of ridiculousness”.

Billed as an espionage thriller the film starring John David Washington, Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth Debicki is set to release in theatres soon.
