American recording engineer and scoring mixer Tim Boyle passed away on 22 December at the age of 71, according to The Hollywood Reporter

He died in his house in Sherman Oaks, as reported by his daughter Bridget Boyle. Boyle had won the Golden Reel Award by the Motion Picture Sound Editors for his work in the 1999 adult animated film South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.

Boyle had served as the chief audio engineer on scoring stages for studios like Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. 

Boyle had worked in over 300 films, several television shows, live events and records. His film credits include, Danny DeVito’s War of the Roses (1989), Pete Hewitt’s Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991), David Mickey Evanss’ The Sandlot (1993), Robert Longo’s Johnny Mnemonic (1995), Paul Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers (1997), Raja Gosnell’s Big Momma’s House (2000), Trey Parker’s Team America: World Police (2004) and Frank Sebastiano’s Beer League (2006) and television shows like Simon & Simon, Tales From the Crypt and 8 Simple Rules.

Boyle is survived by his daughters Bridget and Lyndsay, ex-wife Karen, partner Anne, sisters Nan and Ellen and two grandsons: Valentin and Mika. His memorial service will be conducted on 18 January in Los Angeles, California.
