The road ahead is not going to be easy for Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starer ‘Kedarnath‘. The movie ran into trouble just two days before its release. A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed against the movie in Uttarakhand High Court.

The PIL requests the court to ban the movie which ‘misrepresents facts and hurts Hindus sentiments’. Avatar Singh Rawat, counsel for the petitioner, said, “a Muslim boy falling in love with a Hindu girl, and when they fail to unite, both pray to bring upon destruction after which the 2013 floods take place”.

The PIL says, “This is an utter misrepresentation of facts and promotion of love jihad.” Mentioning Skanda Purana, an ancient Hindu scripture, it says that the film is “twisting every truth about the sacred place.”. The scripture gives a detailed account of the History of Kedarnath.

Shortly, after watching the trailer of ‘Kedarnath’, political reader Ajendra Ajay wrote to censor board chairman Prasoon Joshi and demanded a ban on its release.

A PIL which was filed by Swami Darshan Bharti states that the film is an “ugly taint” on the Hindu shrine. One other allegation of the PIL is the film has insulted Lord Kedarnath. It also claims that Muslim families living in that area, since a long time is also false.
