Among the most popular quotes, is the one from William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet which goes as, “What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet” and it’s popularity is for a valid reason too, but as a matter of fact, everything in this world has an exception and there are a few to thus popular quote too.

Many a times, people might expect from you just going by a particular element of your life, which you might not even be aware of or making it more simple you don’t even care for it. And this somehow stands against the quote “What’s in a Name?” to which an answer can be there’s a lot in a name too! which not all of us openly talk about but it’s an unsaid truth. The 2007 film ‘Gandhi My Father’ talks about it apart from it being based on the complicated relationship between the Father of the Nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and his eldest son, Harilal. Though we can say this Feroz Abbas Khan lacks the features of being a classic yet it is impressive and a brave attempt by the filmmaker.

A scene from Gandhi My Father

The film portrays the struggles of a son with ‘Gandhi’ attached to his name and hence I said, “There’s a Lot in a Name.”  Apart from this major point in the film, there’s one factor I want to highlight is that we have been reading about Gandhiji since our school days but this film gives a different look about the personal tragedy of Gandhiji as he fought for nation by devoting more time to the country. This film is a must watch for its performances and intense moments.
