Richa Chadha is believed to be one of the most dedicated actors in the film industry. She is always ready to take one extra step to pull off her character wonderfully. She is known for playing unconventional roles in the Indian cinema.

She is all set to play a lawyer in the upcoming courtroom drama ‘Section 375’. And to prepare herself for the role, Richa met law professors from law colleges in Mumbai. She even visited some law firms to law related books and to understand the technicality of the judicial procedure.

The film deals with the section mentioned in IPC to protect women, but how it is misused sometimes. It is based on some real-life incidents.

In a statement, Richa said, “My character is that of a very driven and ethical lawyer. Hence, I wanted to see what drives people to take up litigation in the first place. That’s why law schools were a good idea and spending time with them was of great help. The research came in handy and has been crucial.”

‘Section 375’ will be directed by Ajay Bahl and it also stars Akshaye Khanna. 

IPC section 375 deals with the man who has committed rape or had sexual intercourse with a woman against her will, without her consent, consent given because of blackmailing or threatening, etc.
