Rohit Shetty is famous for his commercial full on masala films which showcase high action sequences. The director has given us several superhit films. Now, all eyes are set on his upcoming film Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.
There have been some speculations that some scenes of the film are being re-shot in Hyderabad. It is not clear though if the old scenes were being re-shot or new scenes are being added to the film. There are also reports doing the round that new characters are being added in the film.
According to report by Bollywood Hungama, the new characters of Akshay’s father and mother are being added to the script in order to give an emotional layer to the film. The report quoted a source saying, “There has been buzz that some re-shooting is happening in Hyderabad on the movie, apart from the climax, which was shot on Ranveer, Akshay and Ajay, and they have been shooting for the last few days. Katrina was also there as part of some scenes but whether they were new scenes or re-shot one’s is not clear.”
“Apparently, the makers (including writer Farhad Samji) are changing some of the tracks and have added the characters of Akshay’s father and mother, which was not there in the original. Akshay plays a stylised cop, ATS Chief Veer Sooryavanshi, who deals with terrorism and Neena Gupta and another actor has been finalized to play his parents. Buzz is, the characters were added to give emotional layers to the movie and was a recent decision.”
Talking about the role of Akshay’s mother in the film, the source said Neena Gupta will play the part and will wear prosthetics to get the right look. “She is a very dedicated artist and went through the process of life casting which takes a mould of her face and neck, for sculpting the prosthetic, in the first week of October. It’s a powerful role which apparently, was pencilled in recently in the script as was the role of Veer Sooryavanshi’s father.”
Sooryavanshi is one of the most anticipated film of the year 2020. The film stars Akshay Kumar in the titular role and Katrina Kaif as the female lead. The action drama is directed by Rohit Shetty , and produced by Shetty and Karan Johar under their banner of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions respectively, in association with Reliance Entertainment and Cape Of Good Films.
