SS Rajamouli is back with another big budget movie ‘RRR‘ after giving super hit film ‘Baahubali’. The movie is a two-hero periodic drama set in pre-independence India featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan as leads. In a recent press conference, SS confirmed that the multi-starrer film also features Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt.
Alia Bhatt will be seen essaying the role of Sita with a backdrop of the 1920s. She is paired opposite Ram Charan.“She appears in the story at a crucial juncture and it is her track that changes the tide of the narrative,” confirmed a source near the development. He also added that the ace Bollywood actress will join the cast after the month-end. Ajay, on the other hand, will be seen in an extended cameo. He will essay the role of a freedom fighter and will be seen in the flashback episodes. “It’s a powerful role, and required an intense actor,” the source revealed.
‘RRR’ is a fictional tale of two Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Seetharama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). The duo went on missing during the freedom struggle.
“The film’s story chronicles the period of the duo’s disappearance. As there are only speculations around what they did during that time, Rajamouli has used it to present his own, fictitious version how they met, influenced each other’s decisions as well as their future, and more importantly, the clash of egos that ensued,” the source informed.
SS Rajamouli also confirmed that the film is being made with a budget of ₹350-400 crores, which is the combined budget of Baahubali 1 and 2. The film will be produced by DVV Danayya, who confirmed RRR will release worldwide on July 30, 2020, in ten Indian languages.
