SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali became a cult film soon after the release of the first film. Fans anticipated its sequel for 2 years which released back in 2017 to packed theatres. Both of the films have become massively popular the world over and in this growing list, Russia is the entrant. The Russian embassy in India shared this news on Twitter with a dubbed clip of the movie. They tweeted:

The film has garnered a robust following among TV viewers in Russia. Dubbed in the Russian language, people there are enjoying this mythological drama a lot. Indian fans were overjoyed after hearing this news and took to social media to thank the Russian people for acknowledging the film. A user on twitter expressed his gratitude towards the Russian audience.

Fans also discussed how much fun it will be to watch the film in another language. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tammanah Bhatia and Ramya Krishnan the film released in 2017 broke several records on its way to become a blockbuster. It went on to gross Rs 1,810 crores at the global box office and holds the record for the second highest grossing Indian film. Prabhas fans shared the star’s images on social media as the central characters ‘Mahendra Baahubali’ and ‘Amarendra Baahubali’ after this.

India and Russia already share a strong bond as many Indian films and stars have a large following in Russia since its days as USSR. Actors like Raj Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty have a cult following there. Raj Kapoor’s cult film ‘Mera Naam Joker’ became a blockbuster at the Russian box office at its time of release.

Baahubali helped propelling its actors to stardom, especially Prabhas who became a favourite of the whole country after the film. The film is now regarded as a modern-day masterpiece
