The huge star cast of the musical comprises big names such as Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, and Kerry Washington. Such artists together in a project, alone qualifies it as a must-watch.

In the year 2018, The Prom had made its debut as a musical on Broadway. It is a story about four Broadway actors visiting Indiana town, who help a lesbian student to bring her girlfriend barred from entering The Prom.

Jack Viertel’s original concept was the source of the musical, with Matthew Sklar providing music for the same. Chad Beguelin penned the lyrics for it.

The musical’s producers Bill Damaschke, Dori Bernstein, and Casey Nicholaw are on the board for the project. Even songwriter, Sklar, and book writers, Bob Martin and Beguelin are a part of the feature project, premiering soon.

Ryan Murphy is known for creating multiple and some of the most popular TV series such as Glee, American Horror Story, The Politician, and Pose. He also has another series, Ratched starring Sarah Paulson in the lead coming out on Netflix on Sept 18, 2020.

The Prom will be his other project as part of his deal with Netflix.

It is going to be interesting seeing how Ryan adapts the popular musical into a film. The musical has a good following in the US and now with actors like Meryl Streep in his feature project, Ryan Murphy has certain expectations to fulfill.
