Canadian-American actor Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that a third installment of the successful superhero franchise Deadpool is under development.

He recently made an appearance dressed in his trademark Christmas sweater on the chat show Live With Kelly and Ryan, where the 43 year old actor revealed that Marvel Studios is developing Deadpool 3.

“Yeah, we’re working on it right now with the whole team. We’re over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it,” he told the hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest.

The foul mouthed superhero character was a property of the 20th Century Fox which was acquired by Disney in a $71.3 billion acquisition in March this year.

Both Deadpool and Deadpool 2 have been critical and commercial successes, earning $782 million and $785 million respectively. Both films featured Reynolds playing the title role who occasionally breaks the fourth wall and curses a lot.

Reynolds was recently seen in Michael Bay’s action thriller flick 6 Underground, directed by Michael Bay which released on Netflix. His next releases in the pipeline are the action comedies The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard and Free Guy and the animated film The Croods 2.
