saif ali khan's kaalkandi movie cuts by CBFC

The Indian actor Saif Ali Khan says that FCAT (Film Certification Appellate Tribunal) is a magical place. Saif’s upcoming drama movie title ‘Kaalakandi‘, was advised over 70 cuts by the censor board. The movie which is directed by Akshat Verma and produced by Cinestaan Film Company.

The movie “Kaalakandi” is about six characters, set in one night, and encompasses the dark and bright side of life in Mumbai. The movie also features Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raz, Kunal Roy Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam in crucial roles.

The makers of the movie ‘Kaalakandi’ says that they won’t be releasing the trailer of the movie until the censor board finalizes the number of cuts in the movie otherwise it might spoil the essence of the story.

Today, during the launch of the trailer for his upcoming movie ‘Chef‘, Saif even spoke about his movie ‘Kaalakandi’, he said, “There were lots of cuts. There is a government body called FCAT. So a lot of films that go there with a lot of cuts come out with no cuts or really fewer cuts. It is a magic place apparently where films go with a lot of cuts and come out with no cuts. It sounds to me like a waste of time, but it’s great. So yes, the process is on. Hopefully, it will come out with few cuts because it’s a lovely film. We think the trailer should be released only after we are sure about the number of cuts.”

Talking much about his movie ‘Chef’, which is an upcoming Hindi movie, directed by Raja Krishna Menon and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Bandra West Pictures. The movie features Saif Ali Khan in the lead along with the south actor Padmapriya and child artiste Svar Kamble. The movie marks the Indian remake of the hit Hollywood original American comedy drama with the same name that released in 2014. The original movie was written, produced and directed by Jon Favreau. The movie ‘Chef’ will revolve around the life of a professional chef, who quits his job at a popular Los Angeles restaurant, to launch a food truck with his friend and son.

According to the recent reports, Saif Ali Kahn has gone through an intensive training to play the role of a Chef.  When asked by the actor that does he cooks in real life as well. On this Saif said, “Well, I like cooking spaghetti which is easy for me. I learned chopping vegetables during the shoot. We cooked in an Amritsari kitchen… Some Punjabi khana. Moreover, he added, “Vikas Khanna is one of my favourite chefs… He is one of the international top chefs from our India, and he is a Punjabi.”
