Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who will soon be seen with Ajay Devgn and Kajol in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior on 10 January, has another film Jawaani Jaaneman coming out on 31 January. In Jawaani Jaaneman, Khan will be seen playing the father of Alaia F (granddaughter of veteran actor Kabir Bedi and daughter of actress Pooja Bedi) who is making her debut with film.

But the Salaam Namaste actor says he is not playing the role of a father in conventional sense. “I am not really playing a father as my character is resisting fatherhood,” he told the Mumbai Mirror during an interview.

Revealing some details about the film, Khan said, “It is a fun, naughty film and I didn’t know this side of our director Nitin Kakkar, before we started shooting. The film is about being at an age when you think you are too young but you really are not. You will get to know more (about the story) soon.”

The film also features actor Tabu in a pivotal role. Although not paired opposite each other, Tabu and Khan have previously worked together in films like Hum Saath Saath Hain and Biwi No. 1.

Talking about reuniting with Saif, Tabu told Mumbai Mirror in an interview last year, “This is a different film and it’s amazing to work with Saif after so many years. We did Biwi No. 1, but we did not have any scenes together. Saif has a great sense of humour and I was looking forward to doing this kind of film with him.”

During an interview with Mid-Day Saif said, “Tabu is a brilliant actor. This part is funny on paper, and I’m pleased that she has agreed to play it as now it will be hysterical.”

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and distributed byPen India Limited, Jawaani Jaaneman is produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment in association with Saif’s Black Knight Films and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films.
