We recently reported that Shilpa Shetty will shake a leg in the reprise version of her popular 90s song Chura Ke Dil Mera in her upcoming film Hungama 2. Now, we have learnt that another 90s song will be recreated for another upcoming film.

The forthcoming film of Saif Ali Khan Jawaani Jaaneman will feature a remake version of his popular song Ole Ole from his 1994 film Yeh Dillagi, according to a report in Mid-Day. The new version will be composed by Tanishk Bagchi who is on a spree to recreate 1990s and even relatively new songs. He has recreated songs such as Dilbar for Satyameva Jayate, Tu Laung Main Elaachi for Luka Chuppi, O Saki Saki for Batla House.

While talking about the song, Bagchi said, “Since Ole Ole is an all-time classic, the producers [Jackky Bhagnani and Jay Shewakramani] decided on recreating this fun song. Lyricist Shabbir [Ahmed] and I have worked on quite a few songs. While writing the lyrics for this track, he tried to retain the fun element. The idea was to better the original song and enhance its feel.”

Khan has shot for the song at a suburban studio last week and “loved the treatment” brought in for the new track.

“Considering it became a cult song, there is a lot of pressure riding on us as we want the track to resonate with the audience the way the original version did,” Nitin Kakkar, who is directing the film, told the news daily.

Besides Saif Ali Khan, the film also features Tabu who has worked with him in films like Biwi No. 1 and Hum Saath Saath Hain. It also marks the debut of veteran actor Kabir Bedi’s granddaughter and actress Pooja Bedi’s daughter Alaia F.

Directed by Nitin Kakkar and distributed by Pen India Limited, Jawaani Jaaneman is produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment in association with Saif’s Black Knight Films and Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films. The film is scheduled to be released on 31 January next year.
