‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior‘ is an upcoming periodic Indian drama, where Ajay Devgn is playing the title role. The movie is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, who was a 17th-century Maharashtrian military leader in the Maratha Empire. The film also features Saif Ali Khan playing an important role in the film. Saif will essay the role of Uday Bhan. The movie is directed by Om Raut and is bankrolled by Ajay Devgn and Bhushan Kumar.
The actor is preparing for the role as he is often spotted heading to the Gym and is all set to perform some high octane action scenes in the film. According to the reports, the film is packed with action scenes, so for Saif to be able to perform those scenes with ease a special team will fly to India from Germany to train the actor.
Saif has already shot for the first schedule of the periodic drama in Mumbai and will soon be kickstarting its second schedule from last week of this month. Currently, Saif is busy with the shooting of the second season of a popular web-series.
Ajay Devgn while talking about the film revealed, “We have read about Taanaji Malusare when we were in school and now, the time is changing, where people are exploring different stories and characters who were popular figures in the history.”
”Now the younger generation is aware that there are lots of historical figures on which we can make films apart from four or five historical figures,” the actor had added.
‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is scheduled to have its worldwide release on November 22, 2019.
