The Indian filmmaker, script writer, talk show host, presenter and actor Sajid Khan is now working on a web series. Sajid started his career as a host on the 1995’s TV show titled ‘Main Bhi Detective’. In 2006, Sajid made his directorial debut with the movie ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’. Later in 2007, he directed a movie titled ‘Heyy Babyy’, featuring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Fardeen Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Juanna Sanghvi and Boman Irani. The movie is said to be a remake of the 1990 Malayalam movie Thoovalsparsham which itself is an adaptation of 1987 American film Three Men and a Baby. Later, he directed many movies like Housefull, Housefull 2, Himmatwala, Humshakals. Sajid even acted in a 1998 movie ‘Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate’. He even made a brief appearance in the movies like Main Hoon Na, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Happy New Year.
Now, director Sajid Khan is all set to develop a web series, which will be about dysfunctional family and a small budget horror movie. About the same, Sajid says, “I am toying with a web series that I have been offered to direct. It is like a mini-film. It is about a dysfunctional family, I like this space as it gives you a sense of reality and a slice of life and is entertaining at the same time.”
He has directed many comedy films like ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Housefull’, ‘Housefull 2’, ‘Humshakals’, is now trying his luck in the horror movie. Sajid said, “I am working on a small budget horror film. And it has the potential to scare people and hopefully people will like it.”Horror as a genre is entertaining and it has its set of audience as well. Perhaps we need to make it (horror films) with more conviction here.”
