Kalinga Sena, a local outfit in Odisha, who threatened Shah Rukh Khan few days back, to throw ink and show black flags to the actor, withdrew its threat.

The actor is scheduled to visit Kalinga stadium, for the inauguration of Men’s Hockey World Cup 2018.

However, Kalinga Sena withdrew the threat only for a time being, keeping in view the state and country’s image in front of international guests and teams.

Kalinga Sena chief Hemant Rath said, “We have decided to withdraw the agitation for the time being in view of the request made by Hockey India president Mohammed Mushtaque Ahmad and the state government,”

Hockey India president Mohammed Mushtaque Ahmad, through an email appealed Kalinga Sena to withdraw the threat.

Ahmad, in his mail, also wrote, “Khan is one of the most popular actors of India and is widely known in the hockey community for his support for the game and film ‘Chak De India’, in which he essays the role of a coach of the national women’s Hockey team. Throwing ink on someone who has been invited as a guest would bring a bad name to the country and will show Odisha in very poor light in front of all international guests including teams.”

The outfit, Kalinga Sena, demands an apology from King Khan for hurting their sentiments, through his movie ‘Ashoka’. The film which released 17 years ago, allegedly, distorted the history of the state.
