Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was conferred with the 77th Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award Lifetime Award in an event in Mumbai on Wednesday. Salim’s second wife Helen and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar were also honored with prestigious awards at the event.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared some snapshots of the event and wrote, “Veteran writer Salim Khan, actress Helen and National Award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar were recipients of the prestigious Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Award at an event in #Mumbai yesterday… The awards were presented by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat.”

Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smruti Pratishthan Awards are held annually on the occasion of Master Deenanaths’s death anniversary. Deenanath is the father of world known singers Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Meena Khadikar and Usha Mangeshkar as well as composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

Indian Express reported, the Mangeshkar family has been honoring Master Deenanath Mangeshkar’s death anniversary for the past 75 years, and it became public in 1988 with the awards ceremonies.
