Superstar Salman Khan, the ‘Bhai’ of the country has always been indulged in contributing in social services, awareness and causes. He now has extended his support to the open defecation free campaign of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mumbai.
To spread awareness about hygiene and sanitation, the actor visited a slum near Goregaon’s Film City in Mumbai, accompanied by municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta and a few BMC senior officials.
Salman said, “This is just the beginning. We have rebuilt toilets in more than 3,000 houses and gave them water connections… We are taking care of it. We will try to get permissions to build toilets in the houses if they have space for it.”
Mehta said he is delighted that such a big star has come forward to urge people to use toilets. “People listen to him and take it seriously. The Corporation is ready to do its best. I appeal to everyone to use toilets”, he added.
Presently, Salman is busy promoting his next film ‘Tubelight‘. The Kabir Khan directed film is set to release this Eid.
