Sanjay Dutt along with other Bollywood celebrities including Sonakshi Sinha and Varun Dhawan has announced his decision to support an anti-drug campaign to eliminate drug addiction. The actor who himself has a history of drug dependence wants to help Indian youth and create awareness about the ill-effects of drug abuse.

According to some recent reports the actors have decided to go on a road show and visit different colleges, attempting to spread the message among students.

Sanjay took to Twitter to share his own personal experience. He wrote, “I always wanted to do something to uproot drug addiction from India. The #DrugFreeIndia campaign is a step towards that! Because of my personal experiences, it’s a cause very close to my heart and I want to help the youth of our country.”

In another tweet, he wrote, “There’s more to life than just losing yourself to drugs! Being a victim of the life-threatening effects of it, I’m glad to start a movement which will change our youth’s perception towards such substances. Join us on 18th Feb.”

Drug-Free India is a campaign started by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, in collaboration with Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt. The aim of the campaign is to eradicate drug addiction among youth.

Kapil Sharma, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Bhumi Pednekar, Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aamir KhanChitrangda Singh, Soha Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Badshah, and Esha Deol to name a few celebrities who have joined Dutt for this cause.
