After the remake of ‘Judwa’, David Dhawan is all set to revisit his another hit comedy Govinda starrer, ‘Çoolie No. 1’. The film will mark David’s third collaboration with his son Varun Dhawan, after ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Judwa 2’. According to the reports, father-son duo has been joined by newbie Sara Ali Khan to essay the role which was originally portrayed by Karisma Kapoor. The film will go on floors in July.
The dialogues of the film have been written by Farhad Samji, who has written dialogues for ‘Simmba’. ”It is a boon for any writer to work with a dedicated actor like Varun. I narrated the dialogue draft to him recently and he immediately asked me for a copy, so he could rehearse his lines even though there is still time for the film to go on the floors. I am looking forward to teaming up with Sara for the second time”, he adds.
Farhad Samji also admitted that ‘Coolie No. 1’ is his childhood favorite and had watched the film at least 10 times with his father. “He is no more but the memories remain. With me coming on-board this special film, life has come a full circle. It’s an emotional moment for me,” he says.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun is busy promoting his upcoming periodic drama ‘Kalank’ starring Alia Bhatt. While Sara Ali Khan will be next seen alongside Kartik Aaryan in Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film.
