While there is no official announcement yet, a lot of buzz going around Farah Khan’s remake of Satte Pe Satta. Recently we brought a report to you that Hrithik Roshan did not like the first draft of the script therefore had asked for a revision.

On the other hand, buzz is strong that Anushka Sharma will step into Hema Malini’s shoes and will be playing the female lead. There are no reports yet to suggest otherwise as happened in Hrithik’s case. There is a new development regarding Anushka’s character.

The entertainment website SpotboyE has reported that there is a change in the proffesion of Anushka’s character. While Hema Malini played the role of a nurse in the original 1982 film, Anushka Sharma will be playing a stylish and glamorous teacher in Farah Khan’s version. Does that evoke a familiar image in your mind? Yes, it must bring the image of glamorous Sushmita Sen as Miss Chandni from Main Hoon Na.

While Sushmita Sen draped sexy sarees with flowy palloos, Anushka will be donning short jackets and summer dresses in the remake. Keeping in mind the fact that Main Hoon Na came over a decade ago, the decision seems to be a good one. Also, with the sarees it would look like a copy of Sushmita’s character.

While the buzz is going strong, there is no official confirmation on anything. Many reports are going around the film. One report suggested Farah Khan’s film will not be a remake of 1982 Satte Pe Satta as the deal between the makers and the copyright owner of original film fell through.

Therefore, the makers can not use the title Satte Pe Satta and the character of Babu (antagonist also played by Amitabh Bachchan as he had double role in the movie) which was created by the makers of 1982 film and was not there in the original 1954 Hollywood film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. And this is the reason that Hrithik did not like the first draft as it had a uni-dimensional role instead of a double role.
