Shah Rukh Khan to have a cameo in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’

It has been a long time that the fans saw Shah Rukh Khan on the big screen. He was last seen in Anand L. Rai’s Zero in December last year which did not impress the fans and critics much.

While several reports are doing the rounds on internet that the actor is signing Atlee’s next film, it has been confirmed that the King Khan will definitely appear on the big screen at least in cameo if not in a full fledged role.

The actor is reported to have a special appearance in Ayan Mukerji’s directorial Brahmastra that is expected to release in the summer of 2020. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles and features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Dimple Kapadia in central roles.

A source close to the development told Mumbai Mirror, “It’s a guest appearance but Shah Rukh plays a pivotal role in taking Ranbir’s journey forward. He has already allotted his dates for his portions and will shoot before the year-end.”

According to the source, Ayan has written a part that could only be played by Shah Rukh. “Shah Rukh himself likes Ayan’s work and immediately agreed to the cameo. And like everyone else’s in the film even SRK’s character has the mythological touch,” the source said.

It will be second time that we will see Shah Rukh Khan sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor. The Swades actor had a cameo in Ranbir’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil where he played Aishwarya Rai’s ex-husband. The film also starred Anushka Sharma and featured Fawad Khan, Imran Abbas, Lisa Haydon, and Alia Bhatt in cameos. Also, Shahrukh Khan has done Dear Zindagi with Alia Bhatt.

In April, Ayan had shared a heartfelt note he penned for Shah Rukh Khan. Ayan who was an assistant director for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna Shah Rukh his “inspiration, obsession, idol” and his “single biggest love at the movies” through his entire childhood and teenage years.
