Shah Rukh’s unreleased film ‘Ahamaq’ which was originally made in to a four part mini TV series is set to release in the JIO MAMI festival in Mumbai at the Mumbai Film Festival. The series was directed by film-maker Mani Kaul and was first released in 1991 on doordarshan. It was then screened at the New York Film Festival in 1992. However, it was never commercially released.

The film will have a screening at the Jio MAMI 18th Mumbai Film Festival in the newly introduced programme ‘The New Medium’. The segment will be curated by artist Shaina Anand. ‘Ahamaq’ was based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel “The Idiot”. The unedited mini-series will be presented back to back as a four-hour film.
