Sunday was the day to relax a bit for the actor, Shahid Kapoor. He finally finished the schedule of his upcoming film, Jersey, in Uttarakhand. The film is a remake of the 2019 blockbuster Telugu film, of the same name. The original film had starred Nani in the lead.
Shahid shared about the completion of the schedule on Twitter and thanked the Uttarakhand government for helping the team to shoot in a safe environment amidst the pandemic. His tweet read :
It’s a wrap on this schedule of #Jersey. I would like to thank the Govt of Uttarakhand for supporting and putting in place efficient policies that enabled us to safely shoot and wrap the schedule of our film in the many beautiful locations of the state.

The Uttarakhand government had relaxed shooting norms in August. While they removed the upper limit of the number of crew members for the outdoor shoots, they simultaneously raise the lower limit for indoor shoots. Shahid had started shooting for the film’s schedule in the state, last month.
Jersey is going to be a story about a talented but failed cricketer, who returns to the field in his late 30s. He gets driven to represent the Indian National Cricket Team and to get a jersey for his young son as a gift. Shahid plays the lead role of the cricketer.
The film also stars Pankaj Kapur and Mrunal Thakur. Gowtam Tinnanauri, the director of the original film, is helming the Hindi remake too.
Allu Aravind is presenting the film, while Aman Gill and Dil Raju are its presenters. Shahid’s last film as an actor was his blockbuster, Kabir Singh, which was released last year. That film was also a remake of a Telugu film, Arjun Reddy.
