With Netflix and Amazon turning into virtual theatres, most of the Bollywood movies have found their way towards the audience. And almost every week there’s either an announcement or talks about upcoming interesting projects which are leaving the fans excited. In a similar instance, Vidya Balan starrer ‘Shakuntala Devi’ was in talks for over a month now and finally, the trailer of the film was released yesterday. The last time we saw Vidya on-screen was as a scientist in the multi starrer film Mission Mangal and now she’s back again!
Vidya steps into the shoes of mathematical genius Shakuntala Devi, and she seems perfect yet again but Bollywood’s habit of sensationalizing stories doesn’t seem to stop. The trailer was entertaining and filled with tons of energy. It is the story of Shakuntala Devi who lives within the world of numbers and is fascinated by them. She earns herself a tag of ‘Human Computer’ all around the world but at the same time, she struggles to maintain a normal relationship with her daughter played by Sanya Malhotra in the movie.
Vidya’s look as Shakuntala Devi has attracted all the viewers along with her energetic performance while Sanya keeps it quite cool, sticking to her character. Amit Sadh plays Sanya’s husband in the film and has a blink and miss appearance in the trailer. The trailer looks promising and has got all the viewers excited. Directed by Anu Menon, the film will be released on Amazon Prime dated 31st July.
