Later, she appeared in the two item numbers including “Sharara Sharara” in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai and “Chori Pe Chori” in Saathiya. She has even participated in the reality show “Big Boss Season 3” on Colors TV, but she opted out of the show for her sister Shilpa’s wedding. After staying for 41 days she was out of the show on 14 November 2009.

Shamita feels that this is the perfect time to experiment with the digital platform, she said, “I had not planned to work in a web series, but everything is digital now. It is something that is easily accessible and everyone has the internet which you can access on your phone, laptop and a lot of other mediums even when travelling. The Web is the way forward. It is the perfect time to experiment here.”

Talking about the web series titled Yo Ke Hua Bro, it is a five-part comedy series which features actors like Aparshakti Khuranna, Gaurav Pandey, and Ridhima Pandit. On this Shamita said, “It is a fun series, has some really great fun moments. As far as my character is concerned, I play Suman who is a simple sweet girl, a character you can relate to. But as the story progresses, you see a 100 per cent change in her personality. She is very aware and confident of her sexuality and knows how to get her way.”

According to the latest reports, actor Sumeet Vyas will be seen doing a special appearance in the web series “Yo Ke Hua Bro”. He will be seen playing the role of a maverick policeman. At the launch of the show, Head of the content Monika Shergill said, “The world of digital content constantly demands new and fresh stories that are not formulaic in nature”.
