Shamshera Trailer: Ranbir Kapoor And Sanjay Dutt Clash In Warrior Tale
On Friday, the makers of Shamshera dropped the trailer. The much-anticipated warrior drama looks quite promising as we can see a face-off between the dynamic duo Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.
The trailer begins with Ranbir Kapoor portraying the character of a fearless dacoit, the protector of his tribe, fulfilling his father’s legacy. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt plays his rival, the ruthless Daroga Shuddha Singh. Check out the trailer here.
Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing a double role in the film. Also, Vaani Kapoor steals the limelight as the golden girl in the Yash Raj Film production.
After getting postponed numerously due to the pandemic, the much-awaited warrior drama Shamshera is all set to hit the theatres on July 22.
Sanjay Dutt On Playing Negative Roles
Sanjay Dutt has been seen playing negative roles often. From Kancha in Agneepath to Adheera in KGF: Chapter 2, Dutt has always won the hearts of his fans by portraying the negative characters effortlessly.
When asked about playing the negative characters, Sanjay Dutt said it is fun to play these negative roles. “I am so happy that I worked with Karan Malhotra, he has got his things fixed in his mind. He loves making these high-octane films and I am the happiest that Ranbir is doing Shamshera. This is what I was dreaming about to see him in a film like this and I hope he keeps doing it,” said the actor.
At the trailer launch event, when asked how he always manages to crack the negative roles, he said, “I don’t crack it, the directors do it.”
More About Ranbir Kapoor Starrer ‘Shamshera’
The film marks the first collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt on-screen. However, the former has starred in the latter’s biopic Sanju.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, Shamshera is directed by Karan Malhotra, who made his directorial debut with Agneepath featuring Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles.
Set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian, this is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe.
Shamshera will be released in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on July 22.
