Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor, who is gearing up for her Bollywood debut in 2020. The upcoming actress has already started the preparation. A leading publication reported the 19-year-old aspiring actress is currently working as an assistant director on her cousin Janhvi Kapoor‘s next film, The Gunjan Saxena biopic.
A source close to the project reveals, “The team will be shooting in Lucknow for the next two weeks before moving to other locations. While Shanaya has made up her mind about being an actress, her parents wanted her to experience life behind the scenes first. She had been making regular rounds of Karan Johar’s Andheri office to work on the project.”
The Biopic is directed by debutant Sharan Sharma, who has earlier assisted Ayan Mukherji‘s 2013 film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.

Shanaya recently graduated from school and is close friends with ‘Student of The Year 2’ debutant Ananya Panday and Shah Rukh Khan’s Daughter, Suhana Khan.
Janhvi Kapoor has started to prep for the biopic with lessons in basic flying and on working on the workings of the Indian Air Force.
Gunjan was one of the first Indian female helicopter pilots to be posted in Kargil, who evacuated Indian soldiers from during the 1999 war. She is the first female to be feted with Saurya Chakra, an award presented for valor, courageous action, and self-sacrifice.
