‘Shankara Re Shankara’: First song of ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is out

The first song from one of the most anticipated films of 2020 Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has been released today. Titled Shankara Re Shankara, the song features actors Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan who plays the former’s enemy in the film.

Devgn shows some impressive dance steps along with hundreds of other warriors — all holding a lamp in their hands and sporting saffron turban on their heads. Khan, also a Rajput in the film, is shown sitting on a throne dressed in all black (because black is the colour of evil?) giving devilish smile.

Shankara Re Shankara is sung and composed by Mehul Vyas, while Anil Verma has penned the lyrics of the song. Ganesh Acharya, the choreographer directed some killer moves for Devgn.

Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare who was celebrated for his role in the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 AD. He was a military leader in the army of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj of the Maratha Empire.

Ajay Devgn will be seen playing the titular role of Tanhaji whereas Saif Ali Khan will be seen portraying the character of Udaybhan Rathod and Kajol will be seen in the role of Tanaji’s wife Savitri Malusare.

Directed by Om Raut and produced by Ajay Devgn, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar, the film is slated to be released on 10 January 2020 where it will be clashing with Deepika Padukone starrer and Meghna Gulzar directorial Chhapaak.
