Today's heroines have better chance in Bollywood: Sharmila Tagore!

Indian actress Sharmila Tagore says that today’s heroine has a better chance in Bollywood world unlike in the earlier times. Sharmila says that during her time it was nothing better than a good cry all they have to look helpless on the screen and looking at today’s time the actresses are having much more fun.

When asked from the actress that does she see any difference between the actresses now and then. Sharmila says that in her time life of the heroine was not much exciting. At that time actresses could not be bad while Helen had all the fun because being a heroine’s life was not all that exciting and if she looks at today’s heroine now they are having a much better chance.

Sharmila says that maintaining the continuity at that time was a bit difficult and at that time they have to work in three or four movies at a time so maintaining the continuity was difficult. She even mentions that in today’s time actors like Aamir Khan can put on or lose weight but it was not possible in their time they could not do all that. When asked that which are the movies which she likes the most. She said that she likes ‘Safar’ and ‘Mausam’. However, people really liked the movies ‘Amar Prem’ and ‘Aradhana’ she believes that the shelf life of such movies are still there but her favorite is ‘Safar’ and ‘Mausam’.

She is the contributing in the Hindi film industry for almost over a five decades now. She started with the movies like ‘Aradhana’, ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’, ‘Aa Gale Lag Jaa’, ‘An Evening In Paris’. When asked that which is her favorite co-actor, Sharmila said that she liked working with the actor Shashi Kapoor very much he is a very good friend of hers and of course with the actor Rajesh Khanna she gave a several hit movie.

Sharmila started her Bollywood career in the year 1959. Yesterday, she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Siri Fort Auditorium. After receiving an award she thanked the Chamber for this wonderful honor and she said that she is very happy to share the award with the young people who were rocking in the Hindi cinema.

Apart from the legendary actress Sharmila Tagore, fashion designer Muzzafar Ali was also feted with a Special Award for the contribution to the India cinema. Ali thanked all by saying that it is a really a great thing to respect the artist and this respect will make them work more. The Chamber also gave awards to several singers like Kavita Seth, Prem Bhatia, Akriti Kakar, Usha Mangeshkar, and Ankit Tiwari, among others.
