Shekhar said that many are expecting him to make the sequel but he said, “You can’t copy a film, and I have also moved on in life. Though I would love to see one (a sequel of the film).”

The movie ‘Mr. India’ is the 1987 Indian Hindi science fiction superhero film, which was directed by Shekhar Kapur, produced by Boney Kapoor and written by Salim – Javed. The movie features Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Amrish Puri in the lead roles. The movie was based on the story of a poor but a big-hearted man. He takes orphans into his home and after discovering his scientist father’s invisible device, he rises to the occasion and then he fights to save children all of India from the villain.

Shekhar says that he feel surprised when people come to him and says, “Arre sir, Mr. India banaate hain. Teen hafte mein 300 crore rupaiye banaa legi Sir, let’s make ‘Mr. India’ again, it will mint Rs 300 crore in three weeks” and on that I say, ‘Kya baat kar rahe ho… Picture 30 saal chali hai, aap teen hafte ki baat kar rahe ho (What are you talking? The film has lasted 30 years and you’re talking about three weeks).”

Moreover, he said, “I still don’t understand what they’re talking about. I think that the whole nature (of the filmmaking business here) has changed. We made a film to last as long as it could. I don’t know how to make a film that lasts three weeks or four weeks. So, I really think somebody else should make it.

On the work front, Shekhar Kapur is currently busy with his upcoming film titled ‘Little Dragon’, which will be based on the life of American actor Bruce Lee. The film will be produced by Lee’s daughter Shannon.
