Indian director, Shekhar Kapur is once again collaborating with Hollywood stars to make his next film. Tentatively titled What’s Love Got to Do With It? the film is going to star Emma Thompson, Lily James, and Shazad Latif.
Shekhar is not new in collaborating with Hollywood stars. Earlier he had done the same with his last directorial the 2007 film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age which starred, Cate Blanchett in the lead. He also made his cult 1998 film, Elizabeth with her, which fetched Kapur and Blanchett with worldwide acclaim.
On Monday, Shekhar revealed that the production of his new film has begun. He shared the news with fans via Twitter, writing –
“First rehearsals with the amazing actor Emma Thompson today. So looking forward to working with her in my next movie.”
No details about the film’s plot are revealed as of now however it is speculated, that the film is a cross-cultural drama set in South Asia and London.
The British Actress Emma Thompson is a legend. Her performances have fetched her two Oscars, three BAFTA, and two Golden Globe Awards. Her notable performances came in films like Howards End (1992), ( The Remains Of The Day (1993) In The Name Of The Father (1993).
She is the only person in Oscar history to win Oscars for both acting and writing. While she won the Best Actress Award for Howards End, she won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing the period drama film, Sense, and Sensibility (1995).
