Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham Singh to release on 2nd Oct, 2020

The upcoming biopic “Sardar Udham Singh” directed by Shoojit Sircar, featuring Vicky Kaushal will soon hit the screens on the auspicious occasion of “Gandhi Jayanti” in the year 2020. The film is written by Ritesh Shah and Shubendu Bhattacharya.

The movie is inspired by true events and happenings at the time partition where many of the brave hearts sacrificed their life and blood for mother earth, amongst those there was a legend name Udham Singh is best known for the assassination of Michael O’ Dwyer in London in 1940 to avenge 1919’s Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar.

The storyline of the movie comprises a brief history of the life and events of Udham Singh, a “Matyr”. Shoojit handed over this iconic role to Vicky Kaushal who stands outstanding in his previous performances while gaining major popularity by performing a lead role in URI: surgical strike

The first schedule of the biopic was wrapped up in May and the second schedule will kick start in October. Talking about the same, a source said, “It will be a four-month shoot. A major chunk of the film will be wrapped up by January.” The report also stated that the film will be shot in locations like Russia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North India.

Shoojit’s Udham Singh Is expected to be a war drama inspired by true events.
