Ethan Hunt will be back next year. Director of the last Mission Impossible films, Christopher McQuarrie announced that shooting for MI7 has started. The director amped the expectations of the franchise’s fans after he shared a picture of the location of the shoot.

Captioning the picture on Instagram as “Action… MI7 Day 1”, he posted :

Till now, the seventh film in the franchise is untitled. Though, Tom Cruise will return with his crew to save the world in the film from an upcoming threat.

The last installment, Mission Impossible: Fallout became the best-reviewed film of the franchise, upon release. It holds a fresh rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and is one of the best-reviewed action films ever in history. Rotten Tomatoes critical consensus on the film read :

“Fast, sleek, and fun, Mission: Impossible – Fallout lives up to the “impossible” part of its name by setting yet another high mark for insane set pieces in a franchise full of them.”

Fallout had starred Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan, and Alec Baldwin. Angela Bassett and Vanessa Kirby were the two new entrants along with Cavill in the film.

The film will release on 19, November 2021.
