Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, who has been recently cast in two major films, feels it is a little unfair that he is still known as MC Sher. MC Sher is his character’s name from Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy that brought Chaturvedi fame and appreciation.
“I am bidding goodbye to MC Sher and that’s why today I have dressed up as rapper at this event,” the actor said, while interacting with the media at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards 2019 as reported by IANS.
“I am done with the character of MC Sher and now you should call me as Bunty. In Bunty Aur Babli 2, I play a con artist, so I get an opportunity to play a lot of characters,” said the actor who recently signed Yash Raj production Bunty Aur Babli 2 opposite debutante Sharvari. A sequel of the 2005 hit film of the same name, the film will also star Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan.
Chaturvedi has also signed a Karan Johar production which will be directed by Shakun Batra who has previously directed Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Kapoor & Sons under Johar’s Dharma Productions. This untitled film will star Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday.
He also revealed that the character of MC Sher was not close to his personality. “What I am about to do now is what has been my dream since the time I wanted to be an actor. I wanted to romance and perform songs in Switzerland in a Dharma film, so now I will live that dream! So, there isn’t any pressure. But I can say there is a lot of excitement to explore so many things,” the actor said.
Talking about his upcoming films, Chaturvedi said, “I have started working on both films. I have different looks and body shapes in both films. So, it is going to get difficult for me. I am going to shoot four films in 2020. One of them will be released next year and two will be released in 2021.”
