‘Jabariya Jodi‘, which would be Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra‘s second collaboration after 2014 ‘Hasse Toh Phasee’, was initially slated to hit the screens on May 17, 2019. The makers of the film have postponed the release date of the film to July 12, 2019.
‘Jabariya Jodi’ is helmed by debutant Prashant Singh and is bankrolled by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Shailesh R. Singh. The film is based on the practice of abduction of grooms prevalent in the Indian state of Bihar. It also features Aparshakti Khurrana and Javed Jaffri in important roles.
Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter to reveal the news and wrote, “Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra… #JabariyaJodi release date finalized: 12 July 2019… Directed by Prashant Singh… Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, and Shailesh R Singh.”

The shooting of the film had begun on August 20, 2018. Some pictures featuring the duo were released earlier by the makers which showed them in a desi avatar.
‘Jabariya Jodi’ is expected to have a clash with Navjot Gulati’s ‘Jai Mummy Di’ at the box office which would star Sunny Singh of ‘Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety’ fame, Sonnalli Seygall, Supriya Pathak and Poonam Dhillon.
Sidharth Malhotra would be next seen in Milap Zaveri’s ‘Marjaavaan’ alongside Tara Sutaria, Rakul Preet and Riteish Deshmukh. The lead actress, Parineeti Chopra would be seen next in Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Kesari’.
