Rohit Shetty directorial ‘Simmba‘ released almost five weeks ago and had a long and exhausting run at the box office, due to which it has now slowed down. The film’s business dropped by over 80% and collected ₹80 lakhs gross in the Indian market.

The business is continuously slowing down since the release of Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike‘, as it has been a tough competition. And last weeks big releases ‘Manikarnika‘ and ‘Thackeray‘ has reduced the screen numbers.

In the international market, the film is inching closer to the ₹100 crore mark. After 25 days, the film had collected ₹385 crores worldwide. Although the film is very close to the 400 crore mark worldwide, it is going to be very hard for it to reach that benchmark.

According to the movie critic and biz analyst Taran Adarsh’s tweet, “#Simmba has slowed down considerably due to #Uri wave and the two significant releases [#Manikarnika and #Thackeray] taking away substantial screens + shows”

The film became Ranveer Singh‘s second highest grossing movie after ‘Padmaavat’ and it is the eighth consecutive movie directed by Rohit Shetty to enter 100 crore club. After the success of this film, Rohit has been nicknamed to Ro-HIT Shetty.

As per Box Office India presumptions, the film might finish at ₹240 crore net anytime now. In the Mumbai circuit, it will finish at a huge ₹89 crore net which will be the seventh highest ever and only 14 crore net less than Dangal. However, beating the record of ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’ is impossible for Simmba and it might not be broken in the near future.
