You’ll no more see the smiling face of Discovery Channel’s ‘Mythbusters’ host from now on. Grant Imahara, the man who hosted the show for 9 years died on, Monday. He was 49 and died due to brain aneurysm.

The channel confirmed the news of his death on, Tuesday. They released a statement, which read :

“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant, He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.”

A specialist in animatronics, he was an intelligent and funny man. His brilliant technical skills were behind some of Hollywood’s major films such as the Star Wars Prequels, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence, The Lost World: Jurrasic Park and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

Further in his distinguished and unique career, he was also one of the three sole operators of Star Wars droid, R2-D2. He even made an animatronic Baby Yoda, which he showcased before his death. Using his talent, he created the popular rhythm of Energizer Bunny.

Born on October 23, 1970 in Los Angeles, California he also starred in Netflix’s ‘White Rabbit Project’ in 2016. A graduate from University of Southern California in Bachelor’s of Science, he intially worked as an engineer at  Lucas Film’s THX division.

The news of his death has shocked, the people who knew him. His Mythbusters co-star, Adam Savage tweeted his condolences. He wrote :

“I’m at a loss. No words, I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”

While, his co-host from Mythbusters and White Rabbit Project, Kari Byron and Tory Belleci also tweeted in his remembrance. Byron posted :

On the other hand, Belleci wrote :

“I just cannot believe it, I don’t even know what to say. My heart is broken. Goodbye buddy.”

A man of many talents, it is a huge loss for both the entertainment and tech world.
