An Indian film actress Sobhita Dhulipala says that the dream is to play characters that represent the majority. Sobhita is very well known for her performance in the Anurag Kashyap’s movie ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’. She says that it’s her dream to play an ordinary character that represents the majority because she believes that such kind of roles will help her to connect with the masses.
In her previous movie ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ she won the critics and audience hearts from her acting. Now, she is looking for roles which will reflect who she is. She says that she can not be in such movies that she would not like to watch as an audience. There is always a debate going that how one can get good movies, but how many people are actually willing to be part of such films.
Sobhita wants to be very much sure about her choices. She says that she can not do the terrible mistakes of keep on thinking that the audience is dumb and they will accept anything that she does. She is very much conscious about her cautions and about her choices as well. However, her dream is to play an ordinary character and she says that she has no interest in playing a young pretty girl or an NRI girl.
She wants to play roles which will reach out to masses. She wishes to play the role of an Indian housewife, the tailor’s daughter or a government school teacher and she feels that these are the characters that represent the majority. Recently, Sobhita made a guest appearance in the recently released movie ‘Chef’, featuring Saif Ali Khan.
Talking about the movie ‘Chef’ she said that it was a fun experiment between two serious films. However, she knew it from the very beginning that her role in the movie is very small. She was needed to shoot for just two days. When she heard her part from the director Raja Krishna Menon she immediately said yes. The reason behind her saying yes was because she loves food and she enjoys cooking too and the movie is all about food so she said yes.
She feels that the most serious projects she has done till date are Geethu Mohandas’s ‘Moothon’ and she described that the movie as a very intense and depressing film. She has given most to the character in the movie ‘Moothon’. She says that character has zapped her out. When the director narrated the script to her, she actually felt the chills going down in her spine. It was a very strong movie and in the movie, she played the part which was feisty.
Sobhita will soon be seen in her next movie titled ‘Kaalakaandi’ which also stars Saif Ali Khan. In her next movie, Sobhita was shot for a longer period of time. She was very much serious because of the time which she has invested in her projects. She started shooting for this project a month after her movie ‘Raman Raghava got released. After completing the movie she shot for the movie ‘Chef’ and then later it was followed by Moothon. Along with this she also has one Telugu movie with a title ‘Goodachari’ in her bag. However, she is currently in Delhi shooting for her upcoming Hindi Project.
