Some good news for the creator of the show ‘Some Good News’ , John Krasinski has arrived. His Youtube Talk show, has been submitted to compete for an Emmy award. The show, was created by Krasinski at his home, while he was in lockdown with his family. It consisted of 8 episodes and specifically focussed on spreading good news only.

A source from ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, states that the show has been submitted in the category of Best Variety Talk series. The length of each episode was about 15-25 minutes, although the show got selected in the longer format series.

According to TV Academy’s rules, shows which have an episode averaging not more than 15 minutes, are the short form programmes. Therefore, Some Good News got selected for the Best Variety Talk Series.

It will compete against another, big late night shows. These popular late night shows are of famous people such as John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah and Jimmy Kimmel among others.

Earlier in May, the show was sold by Krasinski to ViacomCBS. At the time, the actor faced backlash from fans of the show and several mean comments on Social media. He addressed those complaints in an Instagram live chat with Rainn Wilson on his show ‘Hey There, Human’. In his talk with Rainn, Krasinski revealed how he never intended to make more than 8 episodes.

Although, he has sold the show to ViacomCBS now, he will continue to serve as an executive producer on it. Krasinski, had also promised fans, that he will continue to come on the show in some another form.

His last film, A Quiet Place II got postponed due to COVID-19, although it had its world premiere in March. Krasinski is famously known for his stint in the popular show ‘The Office’.
