Sonam Kapoor and Malayalam sensation Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘The Zoya Factor’ has got a release date. The film is based on a popular novel written by Anuja Chauhan with the same name, the film will release on June 14, 2019.
Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter to share the release date of the upcoming film, and he wrote, “Release date finalized… Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan… #TheZoyaFactor to release on 14 June 2019… Directed by Abhishek Sharma… Produced by Fox Star Studios and Adlabs Films.”

The film features Malayali actor, Dulquer Salmaan who recently made his Bollywood debut with a small budget Hindi film, ‘Karwaan’, which starred Irrfan Khan. ‘The Zoya Factor’, Sonam Kapoor is paired opposite Dulquer, it also features Sonam’s uncle, Sanjay Kapoor, who plays her father in the film. In the film, Sonam will essay the role of an Advertising executive who goes on to become the lucky mascot of the Indian Cricket team. Actor Angad Bedi also plays an important role in the film.
Talking about the film to PTI, Sonam had said, “Everybody thought I should play Zoya, it is a fun part. I wanted to do something light-hearted but everyone wanted me to do drama. After Khubsoorat, I am doing a light-hearted film. Abhishek Sharma (director) is an amazing person. I have started shooting with Dulquer Salmaan.”
The film went on floors last year, Sonam shared a picture of the draft of the film’s script, written, “New Start”. Sonam’s last film was ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ was a flop. However, the film was appreciated for picking up a bold theme like same-sex love.
