The upcoming film Satellite Shankar which stars Sooraj Pancholi and Megha Akash has been creating quite a buzz on the social media. The trailer of the film has received warm response. While many felt the film gives an impression of being a war-film, the lead actor Sooraj Pancholi recently clarified that it is not based on war. Instead, the film depicts the journey of a soldier.
While speaking to Zoom, Sooraj said, “The script is so beautiful, so real and raw. It’s not based on war. It’s soldier’s journey. There is a completely different take to this film. Locations are real. Emotions are real. People around are real. The travelling is real. I felt like I was a soldier. This film is a sweet drama. You get to see the life of a soldier off the battlefield. That’s why it says all heroes do not go to the battlefield. We always think about soldiers being at war or the border. But soldiers are also human who have a family, their mother, sister, father, grandparents. They can;t celebrate Diwali and Holi like us. It is about a soldier who wants to meet his mother for just half an hour.”
With Satellite Shankar, Sooraj Pancholi will be seen on the big screen after four years. The son of yesteryear actor Aditya Pancholi and the critically acclaimed actress Zarina Wahab made his debut in the 2015 romantic film Hero which was a remake of the superhit 1983 film of the same name. The film as well as his performance did not receive much acclaim.
The actor who started off as an assistant director on films such as Guzaarish and Ek Tha Tiger has great hopes from his second. The actor was seen opposite Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty in his debut film whereas in this film he will be seen opposite Tamil and Telugu actress Megha Akash.
The action drama Satellite Shankar is written and directed by Irfan Kamal and bankrolled by Super Cassettes Industries Pvt Ltd and Cine 1 Studios. The film is slated to release on 8 November.
