Netflix’s original series Squid Game actress Jung Ho-Yeon becomes the first Asian model to feature solo for the cover of the Vogue Magazine in 130 years since its first issue.

The actress vaulted to international fame for her role in the popular Netflix series ‘Squid Game’ has become the most-desirable Korean actress with 23.7 million followers on Instagram. In an interview with Vogue in the US, Jung Ho-Yeon said, “My life has been changed in a month since Squid Game was released.” The actress mentioned that she has been working hard to learn English, train poses and voice to expand worldwide through various arts and movies.

The South Korean actress, Jung Ho-Yeon started her career at the age of sixteen as a freelance model in 2010, walking for shows of Seoul Fashion Week. She auditioned for the second season of Korea’s Next Top Model in 2011 and made it to the Top 30. Unfortunately, she suffered from an injury that led her quit the show. In 2013, the actress appeared in the music video of the Korean singer Lee Hyori. She continued to star in pop Korean music videos for a couple of years. In 2017, she appeared for brand advertisements for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Bottega Veneta and Hermès. Post advertisements, she featured on cover posters of magazines like Vogue Korea, Vogue Japan and CR Fashion Book.

Jung Ho-Yeon became the Global Brand Ambassador for fashion, watches and jewellery of Louis Vuitton.

After signing with Saram Entertainment in 2021, she auditioned for the thriller drama ‘Squid Game’ streamed on Netflix.
Squid Game, written and directed by Hwang Dong-Hyuk, was tracked to become Netflix’s most-watched series ever. This one hell of a game show dominated charts of the world, whipping the competition behind globally. After the release of the thriller series, Jung Ho-Yeon was immensely stunned to see the responses of the audience towards her performance. The actress said humorously, ”My mom did joke that my acting was very realistic, like when I’m being mean to her. My younger sister never really took an interest in my career. She just thinks of me as her older sibling, so when she told me that my acting was ‘not that bad’ in Squid Game, I was quite surprised,” said Jung.
The emotional responses to the invincible show changed the life of the actress, thus making her one of the commendable artists worldwide.

Regarding Jung Ho-Yeon, the Vogue said, “If there is a Korean word to exactly describe Jung Ho-Yeon, it is ‘yeol-shim,’ which means something like diligence.”
The 27-year-old actress again came off with flying colors, as she becomes the first South Korean to appear solo on the cover of Vogue.
