Sridevi’s last and critically-acclaimed film ‘MOM’ will be released in China on the occasion of Mother’s Day this year. The crime thriller film is slated to be released in China on May 10 by the studio.
Head of Zee Studios International (Film Marketing, Distribution, and Acquisition) Vibha Chopra says, “We wanted to pick the perfect date for the release of such a special film, like ‘Mom’ in China, which is a huge market and has great potential for the film to do well. As a tribute to all mothers, we have chosen May 10 to release this riveting film in China.”
‘Mom’ was the 300th film of Sridevi, which is directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Boney Kapoor, Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain. The film also starred Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh, Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in lead roles, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special appearance. Music for the film was scored by A. R. Rahman.
The film is about a stepmother who seeks justice for her daughter after is brutally gang-raped by a group of spoiled rich students from her school and two of their house helps.
The film has won National Award for Best Background Score and Sridevi received Best Actress Award for the film.
