Won't direct till I'm totally thrilled with story: Subhash Ghai!

The Indian film producer, director, and screenwriter Subash Ghai is very well known for his works in Hindi cinema. He started his career as an actor with a small role in the movies like Taqdeer and Aradhana. Later, in 1976 he directed his first movie titled “Kalicharan” for which he obtained a recommendation by Shatrughan Sinha. As of now, he has written and directed a total of 16 movies. His most notable works include Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Meri Jung, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, Taal, and Black & White. With his 2016 movie ‘Iqbal’, he received the National Film Award for producing the movie which focuses on the social problems. Later, he received the IIFA Award for outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema. He is the founder of the production house Mukta Arts Limited. Subah has also founded Whistling Woods International, which is a film, communication and media arts institute.

Filmmaker Subash Ghai says that he will not direct the movie until and unless he is totally thrilled with a story. Subash last directed “Kaanchi: The Unbreakable”, which released in 2014. On this Subash Ghai said, “I shall not direct a movie till I am totally thrilled with a story which is new to me and has a meaningful issue like ‘Iqbal’. God has blessed me more than I could have asked for in life.

As if now he is enjoying his role as a producer. Subash Ghai said, “Let the new generation take over and make movies for Mukta Arts. I’m happy as a producer as well as to be in the educational space,”
