Applause Entertainment, in collaboration with Banijay Asia have decided to hire famous filmmaker Sudhir Mishra to direct an Indian remake of the very popular Israeli crime-thriller television series Hostages. The original drama series, which was released as Bnei Aruba in Hebrew back in 2013 gained so much critical acclaim worldwide, that even the United States was driven to make their own English adaptation of the show.

The web series is set to star actors like Ronit Roy, Tisca Chopra, Dalip Tahil, and Parvin Dabas, with Sudhir Mishra as the director. In a statement, Mishra announced that he likes to treat every project like his first one – this allows him to rethink and reimagine the plot from a fresh perspective. Thus, he stated that he was extremely eager to direct Hostages, and help in putting the hard work of every actor, producer, and cameraman to bring the wonderful plot of the series to life. Both Sameer Nair, the CEO of Applause Entertainment, and Deepak Dhar, CEO of Banijay Asia have announced their high hopes for this web series, resting their confidence in Sudhir Mishra to make this project a worldwide hit.

The TV show Bnei Aruba was an intense psychological ride which revolved around the happenings in the life of a famous surgeon whose life took a turn for the worse after her family was taken hostage as a bribe to compel her to kill the President during his scheduled surgery. Hostages is expected to finish production and be released for streaming within 2018. Currently, the main cast, along with Sudhir Mishra, is believed to be shooting for the web series somewhere in Mumbai.
