Actors Diljit Dosanjh, Manoj Bajpayee and Fatima Sana Shaikh are all set to team up for the first time for a new film. The project titled Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari will be directed by Abhishek Sharma who has previously helmed films like Tere Bin Laden (2010), its sequel Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive (2016), Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018), The Zoya Factor (2019).
The announcement was made on the official Twitter page of Zee Studios which is bankrolling the film. The post also revealed that the film will go on the floors on 6 January next year.

Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is touted to be a quirky comedy where Dosanjh would play a prospective groom while Bajpayee would be seen as a wedding detective and they will be seen engaged in a battle of wits.
Sharma revealed that he developed the film with the two actors in mind and is confident that it would come on the screen beautifully. “Diljit essays the role of an eligible bachelor who is planning to get hitched. His character lands in a soup when he crosses paths with Manoj sir, who plays a wedding detective. It’s an interesting family comedy with a heavy dose of satire,” he told Mid-Day.
The film is set during the 1990s when there were no social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram to stalk people. And, “that is why wedding investigators were hired,” he told the news daily. Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios, said, “It is a new concept with a powerful cast.”
