Sonchiriya, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana had a dull opening at the box office as it just earned ₹1 crore. Helmed by Abhishek Chaubey, Sonchiriya is based on the rebels of Chambal valley. The movies received a good response from the critics but it failed to woo the audience. Sonchiriya is filled with stellar performances, fascinating cinematography, and provocative dialogues, but didn’t perform well on its opening day.
According to the reports of boxofficeindia.com, the film made ₹1 crore on day one at the ticket window. The film was released across 720 screens in India and 220 screens overseas, making it a 940 screens worldwide. Trade experts are keeping their eyes fixed on the numbers to see if the film grows over the extended weekend.

The movie revolves around Sushant Singh Rajput and Manoj Bajpayee leading a bunch of bandits struggling to make a decision about surrendering to the cops. ‘Sonchiriya’ showcases a small town ruled by dacoits where multiple-gangs fight over to attain power. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Production and Screenplay and the dialogues have been written by Sudip Sharma and the music is given by Vishal Bhardwaj.
