Finally! Actor, Rhea Chakraborty appears before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Mumbai on Friday. Rhea is accused of abetting the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput. The ED had filed a case against her in connection with money laundering.

Earlier, the actor was summoned today for questioning. She had requested the ED to postpone the same, till the time her plea is heard in the Supreme Court, which seeks transfer of the case to Mumbai from Bihar. However, in a major setback to her, the ED rejected her request.

In a statement released today, Rhea’s advocate Satish Maneshinde said :

“In view of the fact that the ED has informed the media that the request to postpone her attendance is rejected, Rhea has appeared before the ED office.”

Her advocate further called her a law-abiding citizen and she’ll cooperate with the ED.

While Sushant was found dead at his Bandra apartment on June 14, an FIR was filed against Rhea on July 25 by the Bihar police after Rajput’s father, KK Singh made a complaint. Further, the FIR included her parents, brother– Showik Chakraborty and two other people–Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi.

On what basis was the case filed against them?

The Bihar police filed charges of abetment to suicide, criminal conspiracy, cheating, and wrongful confinement.

To further add woes for Reha, the ED had filed a money laundering case against her on July 31. This was done after Sushant’s complained of financial irregularities in his account.

The 28-year-old actor is in deep trouble and if proved guilty can look forward to spending her life in jail.
